We are finally back at opisto after Christmas break. The break has been very nice, but eveyone is excited to be back at opisto and to see each other after being gone for three weeks. The morning came too early for most of us but its time to get back on schedule. We all met in the auditorium. They welcomed us back to opisto and also welcomed some new staff members. Now Jouni Lohi will take Ilkka´s place, Airi Tuovinen who is filling in for Annikki, and Pirjo Karttunen who is new in kitchen. Then it was time for classes to begin again.

Pääsimme lopulta takaisin opistolle joululoman jälkeen. Loma oli oikein kiva, mutta tuntuu myös mahtavalta olla taas opistolla ja nähdä kaikkia kolmen viikon jälkeen. Aamu tuli kyllä liian aikaisin useimmille meistä, mutta on aika palata lukujärjestykseen taas. Tapasimme kaikki auditoriossa. Meidät toivotettiin tervetulleiksi, samoin muutamat uudet henkilökunnan jäsenet. Jouni Lohi tuli Ilkan paikalle, Airi Tuovinen on pari viikkoa Annikin sijaisena, ja keittiössä aloitti Pirjo Karttunen. Sitten oli aika aloittaa oppitunnit taas!

Today was a normal morning of classes. Then after coffee, we had the second round of our floorball tournament. Some people were excited and ready to play while others didn`t have much energy. After a couple fights and few hurt players, we managed to finish most of the games. Then in the evening services were held in the auditorium here at opisto. Many youth came for services and to visit afterwards.

Lauantaiaamuna pidettiin tavalliset oppitunnit. Kahvin jälkeen meillä oli sählyturnauksen toinen kierros. Toiset olivat innokkaita pelaamaan, kun taas toisilla ei oikein ollut energiaa. Parin tappelun ja muutaman loukkaantumisen jälkeen onnistuimme päättämään useimmat pelit. Iltaseurat pidettiin auditoriossa. Monia nuoria tuli seuroihin ja vierailemaan opistolle.

In the afternoon, each line took turns going inside to take a survey about how opisto is going and what you think about yourself, the staff and other students here at opisto. Then many people came to the opisto for services that were held in the gym. It was nice for us because we didn´t have to walk all the way to the ry in the cold.

Sunnuntai-iltapäivänä jokaisen linjan opiskelijat kävivät vuorollaan tietokoneella tekemässä arvioinnin siitä, miten opistovuosi on sujunut ja mitä ajatuksia on itsestä, henkilökunnasta ja toisista opiskelijoista. Sitten opistolle tuli paljon ihmisiä seuroihin, jotka pidettiin salissa. Meistä oli mukava, kun meidän ei tarvinnut kävellä kylmässä säässä rauhanyhdistykselle.

This Thursday evening, there was evening devotion like usual. Then after even snack, we all went in the gym to watch the evening presentation that Herva and Kuoppelikko put on. They did some funny skits that had everyone laughing. They also had people blindfolded, had them sit down, and were trying different shoes on them. The last ones they tried was a rubber boot full of water. Then they did the charade telephone game too. It was a pretty fun evening.

Torstai-iltana oli iltahartaus, kuten tavallisesti. Iltapalan jälkeen menimme kaikki saliin katsomaan ohjelmaa, jota Hervan ja Kuoppelikon asukkaat olivat järjestäneet. Heillä oli hassuja sketsejä, joille kaikki nauroivat. Yleisön joukosta muutamat pääsivät myös silmät sidottuina kenkäkauppaan. Kohteliaat myyjät sovittivat heille kaikenlaisia kenkia. Viimeisenä oli kumisaapas, joka oli täynnä vettä. Sitten oli kuva-arvoitus, joka piti toistaa pantomiimina. Ilta oli oikein hauska.
